Peeling Layers of Meaning (60 Days of Painting Edition)

Hey, hello there, friend!
Sometimes, the meaning of things doesn’t show up right away. A color, a moment, a feeling, they all arrive with one message on the surface, but the real story often hides beneath the layers.
I’ve been feeling this a lot lately during my 60 Days of Painting Challenge. Even with recent commissions, when I revisit older designs or themes, those sneaky limiting beliefs whisper, “You’ve done this before.” For a moment, I question if I’m evolving enough, if I’m still that creative genius who started painting full of wonder.
But then I remember: a creative career is not a straight line. It’s repetitive courage, the willingness to show up again and again, even when it feels like we’ve been here before. Each stroke, each color, each new attempt is another layer of devotion.

And just like paint, the emotional layers underneath matter too. I notice how my process mirrors life itself, one layer covering another, revealing something new each time. Texture meeting patience. Color meeting intuition. A dance between energy, thought, and feeling.
When you commit to creating every single day, something magical happens: your perception expands. You start seeing more. Every color, every shadow, every flower becomes inspiration. The world becomes alive again.
And the way to collect art is the same feeling, it’s about seeing differently. At first, you might be drawn to the color or composition, but over time, you begin to notice how it changes your energy. Maybe it stirs a memory, softens your day, or becomes a quiet reminder of joy. Art keeps revealing itself, just like we do.
So this week, I invite you to see the world, and your own experiences, through artist eyes. Look closer. Feel deeper. Let meaning find you.
And if you’re ready to bring a little of that wonder home, check out this week’s new painting drop, each piece is a moment, a mood, and a layer waiting to be discovered.
