The Quiet Between Chapters

Hey, hello there, friend!

Have you ever felt like something is about to change, but you can't quite see what it is yet?

That's where I've been lately. From the outside, it probably doesn't look that way.

Over the past few months, I've painted two murals, released new paintings, taught workshops, recorded incredible podcast conversations, continued writing my book, and somehow managed to keep creating every single week.

It's been full, but internally, it's been surprisingly quiet. Don't get me wrong, not the kind of quiet that comes from a lack of ideas, but quite the opposite.

My notebook is overflowing with membership ideas, courses, snail mail, workshops, a move to Substack, new paintings, and different ways of sharing my art. You know, new ways of serving this beautiful community that has been growing alongside me.

The funny thing is, every single one of those ideas excites me. That's what makes this season so challenging. I'm not choosing between something good and something bad. I'm choosing between many good things, knowing I can't do them all at once.

Therefore, the challenge isn't a lack of inspiration. It's that everything feels possible, and somehow, that can be just as overwhelming as feeling like nothing is.

Lately, I've noticed myself posting less on social media, almost as if something inside me keeps whispering, "Pause long enough to understand what wants to come next."

As artists, entrepreneurs, or simply people trying to build a meaningful life, I think we're often taught that growth looks like constant movement. More content, more offers, more products, more momentum. But what if growth sometimes asks us to pause instead?

I've been asking myself some big questions lately. What do I want to paint next? What do I want to teach? How do I create more financial stability? How do I expand my business without losing the parts that make it feel like me?

I don't have those answers yet, and I'll be honest, that's uncomfortable because I like knowing where I'm going. But every meaningful chapter of my life has started exactly like this, with curiosity instead of certainty, and with a quiet inner knowing that things are unfolding exactly as they should.

Maybe this feeling that something no longer fits isn't a problem to solve. Maybe it's simply a sign that it's time to grow.

So instead of rushing to fill the silence, I'm trying something different. I'm listening. I'm paying attention. I'm trusting that the next chapter doesn't need to be forced, only recognized when it arrives.

If you've been feeling like you're standing between versions of yourself, I hope you know you're not alone. Migh as well embrace n the beautiful, uncomfortable space between who we've been and who we're becoming.
