Hey, hello there, friend!
This blog post took me some courage to write, but I’m ready to share with you the realization that changed everything for me.
I’ve been an artist my entire life. As you may know, I’m always studying and working on getting to know myself. I seek out mentors, read book after book, and dive into every corner of what it means to create, heal, and live.
Even when I was just beginning, I embraced not only the process of mastering my craft but, more importantly, the journey of mastering my why, my own mind, and body.
The Journey of Self-Discovery
I’ve always been curious. Curious about who we are and why I paint. The creative process feels like the most spiritual thing I’ve ever known. I ponder the big questions, too:
Why do some people experience wild abundance while others don’t?
What is faith?
What happens when we surrender to imagination or beauty?
What is God, Source, the Creator?
Why do some people not believe in any higher power at all?
Why is our world so divided?
What makes our perception shift from one state to another?
Are we destined, or are we free to create as far as our imagination can stretch?
What happens after this life?
Where does creativity come from?
These questions have followed me for as long as I can remember. They continue to shape how I see the world. I don’t pretend to have the answers. Honestly, the more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know. What I believe will always evolve. I’m not here to convince anyone of anything. I respect all perspectives. I want to be clear: this is not a religious attempt. It’s simply me searching for my own truth and sharing what resonates with my soul.

The Realization
Recently, in one of my classes, I was asked to write down everything I wanted to achieve. I had to create a declaration of my self-image as the person who had already achieved everything I desired. Then something unexpected happened. As I wrote, the words spilled out:
My art exists to raise creative consciousness.
The moment I saw it on the page, I felt it in my body—chills, tears, a recognition. Nothing really changed… and yet everything changed. Suddenly, my purpose stretched beyond myself. It wasn’t just about paintings or murals or beauty anymore. It was about what they awaken in others.
Then, as if to seal this realization, another sentence came to me:
Creativity is how consciousness remembers its own power.
That one stopped me in my tracks. Because isn’t it true? The moment we create—whether with paint, words, flowers, music, or movement—something wakes up in us. We become more connected. We remember that we can shape, imagine, and transform. We remember that we are powerful.
What Is Creative Consciousness?
Well, okay Drica… that may sound profound, but what does it even mean?
Fair question. Honestly, it took me a few hours of sitting with it to find the right words. I know this definition will keep evolving as I do. But for now, here’s what feels true in my heart:
Creative consciousness is:
Looking into the spaces most people overlook—the pauses, the silences, the unseen details, the invisible threads that connect everything—with curiosity and wonder, discovering beauty there.
Using imagination not to escape reality but to expand it.
Celebrating life and nature, feeling one with it.
Choosing love as the highest force.
Practicing forgiveness as a way of freeing ourselves and others.
Creating instead of fearing.
Collaborating instead of competing.
Having faith in what we can’t yet see and expanding anyway.
Creative consciousness is remembering that we are not passive spectators of life. We are creators. We shape, we build, and we create worlds with thought because everything we see around us began in someone’s imagination.
Why It Matters
The truth is, creative consciousness goes beyond art. It’s a way of living. When you shift into it, everything changes:
Fear quiets down.
Trust grows louder.
Life feels less like reaction and more like creation.
Your inner sense of plenty gets rooted.
That’s what I want my art to do: awaken that remembering in you.
A New Chapter
This is the beginning of a new chapter for me. One where my art is not just about color and beauty but about something much deeper: consciousness, creation, and awakening.
I’ll be sharing more about what this means and how it can transform not only how you see art but how you see yourself.
The Impact of Creative Consciousness
Creative consciousness can have a profound impact on our lives. When we embrace this mindset, we open ourselves to new possibilities. We begin to see the world through a different lens. This shift can lead to personal growth and transformation.
Embracing Change
Change is often daunting. However, when we adopt a creative consciousness, we learn to embrace it. We understand that change is a natural part of life. It allows us to evolve and grow.
Building Connections
Creative consciousness fosters connections. When we create, we connect with ourselves and others. We share our experiences, thoughts, and emotions. This connection can lead to deeper relationships and a sense of community.
Finding Purpose
Many people struggle to find their purpose. Creative consciousness can help clarify what truly matters. By tapping into our creativity, we can discover our passions and align our actions with our values.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the journey of creative consciousness is ongoing. It invites us to explore, question, and create. I encourage you to embrace this journey. Allow it to transform how you see art and yourself.
This is just the beginning. I look forward to sharing more insights with you.
Please share your thoughts with me!
Color Your Life!
Love, Drica
