Hey, hello there, friend!
While you’re reading this on Thursday, I’m on my way to the airport, heading back home to São Paulo, Brazil. Let me start by sharing something uniquely Brazilian with you—the word “saudades.” There’s no direct translation for it in English, but it’s a poetic expression of deep longing, nostalgia, and love for something or someone you miss. It’s not just about missing; it’s about the heartache and beauty that come with cherishing those memories and connections.

The last time I was in São Paulo was in 2020. I honestly can’t recall being away for this long, and apparently, neither could my mom. She decided to take matters into her own hands and said, “I’m getting you a ticket to come home.” And here I'm, bags packed, ready to go.
I’m so close to my family, and this trip feels incredibly meaningful. But it’s bittersweet, too. This will be the first time I’ll step off that plane and not feel my father’s big bear hug or share a glass of wine with him by the beach when I get there. If you’ve followed my journey, you know his passing left a deep mark on me, and even though I’ve come to find light within the darkness, moments like these bring it all back. It’s a mix of gratitude for the memories we shared and the ache of missing him in the present.
My nieces and nephew, who I still picture as kids running around, are adults now. Seriously, how did that happen? I don’t feel old—at least not with my age—but I definitely feel it with theirs. Haha! It’s wild to think how much time has passed. This trip is shaping up to be a full-on family and friends reunion, which makes it even more special. And since it’s summer in Brazil, it’ll be the perfect time to take a little break, soak up the sun, and recharge.

Of course, an artist’s soul never truly takes a break. Inspiration is always flowing, always gathering, no matter where I am. I’m sure the colors, the vibrancy, and the energy of Brazil will seep into my work in ways I can’t even imagine yet. My heart is wide open for it all.
Before I go, I want to ask you for a small favor. If you haven’t already, please reply to my 2025 Feedback Edition. I’ve only received a handful of responses so far, and your input means the world to me. It helps me grow, improve, and serve you better when I return. So, now is the time to share your thoughts! Let’s co-create something amazing together.
Thank you for being here, for reading, and for supporting my journey. I’ll see you all from sunny Brazil!
