Back home, back to work: catching up after an epic journey

Hey, hello, there friend!

It’s been a week since I left France, and I’m still returning to my routine. My journey back home was quite an adventure—48 hours of travel from Italy to France, London, Seattle, and finally LA (I LOVE airports ;). I was completely exhausted when I finally arrived at LAX on Friday night at 11:45 pm. I went straight to bed and didn’t wake up until 7:30 pm on Saturday!

I took the entire weekend off to recover, and unfortunately, I caught a cold from all those chilly airports. So, I apologize if I haven’t had a chance to reply to your emails yet. I promise I’ll get to them soon.

One thing that did brighten my return was finding that my package from France had arrived safely. It contains all the paintings I created during my residency. I haven’t opened it yet because, to be honest, I’m not quite ready to revisit all those emotions just yet.

But the good news is that I’m back at work and diving into a project I’ve always wanted to do. I’m painting a mural in Orange County for a gorgeous wall in a new office space. This project is even more special because I’m using a technique I’ve never tried before called paint dripping. I’m so excited to share more about this process with you!

In the meantime, I’ve been posting updates on my Instagram account, so please do if you’re not following me there yet. There’s so much happening in my life right now; I don’t want you to miss any of it.

Speaking of exciting things, my birthday is coming up! YAY! Mark your calendars (August 29th) because I’m planning something special where you will receive gifts. Stay tuned for more details!

Once this mural is finished, I have another large and fascinating project lined up. I’m just waiting on city permits to get started, so keep an eye out for updates.

Lastly, I want to mention that the pieces I created in France are incredibly special to me, and I’m saving them for a future solo show. They won’t be available for sale yet, but I’d love your thoughts. If you’ve been following my work, you’ll know how much my art has evolved recently, and your feedback means the world to me.

Thank you for your continued support. It feels good to be back, and I can’t wait to share all the new adventures with you!

Color Your Life!

Love,

Drica
