Hello friend,
This blog post is not about art. This blog post aim to ask for help as my country, Brazil, faces it's worst tragedy, in natural disaster! ;(
In the wake of unprecedented devastation caused by relentless rainfall in Brazil's southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul, the nation is grappling with one of its most severe natural disasters in recent memory. The deluge of heavy rain triggered massive flooding and landslides. Over two-thirds of the state's municipalities have been inundated, displacing over 150,000 residents and leaving behind a trail of destruction that defies comprehension.
As a Brazilian witnessing the heart-wrenching scenes of rescue efforts, I'm struck by the resilience of our people amidst unimaginable adversity. Volunteers risking their lives to save stranded individuals, families torn apart by nature's fury, and pets waiting desperately for salvation—a testament to the indomitable spirit that defines us as a nation.
One of the hardest-hit cities, Eldorado do Sul, has been left utterly devastated, with its mayor lamenting that the city stands "100% destroyed." Such words resonate deeply, echoing the profound loss experienced by countless communities across the region. While Brazil is no stranger to challenges, this catastrophe has shaken us to our core, reminding us of our shared vulnerability and the imperative to stand in solidarity with those in need.
Amidst the despair, however, a beacon of hope shines—the outpouring of support and solidarity from every corner of our nation. Despite our differences, we are bound by a common humanity that compels us to extend a helping hand to our fellow citizens in their hour of need. It's a testament to the strength of our collective spirit and the resilience of the human heart.
Yet, the road to recovery will be long and arduous. The scale of the damage is incalculable, and the waters may recede, but the scars left behind will endure for years to come. As a proud Brazilian, I feel compelled to issue a call to action—to rally together and provide assistance in whatever form we can.Â
No matter how small, every donation can make a difference in the lives of those who have lost everything.
In the spirit of solidarity, I donated 10% of my recent auction to support relief efforts in the affected regions.Â
