How I See Fall in Color: 5 Palettes for the Season

Hey, hello there, friend!

Fall is here, bringing all the warmth and coziness we love. It’s that magical time when the air feels crisp, the sunsets get moodier, and colors take center stage. For me, fall isn’t only about leaves changing, it’s about how light and color shift our perspective. This year, I’ve created a series of palettes inspired by my own paintings, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

Each palette blends the essence of autumn with the soul of the California coast, inviting you to see fall in a new, vibrant way.

1. Golden Horizon

A palette that mirrors sunsets stretching across the ocean. Think glowing ochres, radiant yellows, and soft sky tones. Warm yet expansive, perfect for capturing the in-between moments of day and night.

2. Harvest Tide

Where land meets sea, this palette is rich with terracottas, rusts, and teal waves. It’s about flow and grounding, reminding us that fall is a season of both movement and reflection.

Inspired by the cool evenings of autumn, this palette leans into deep blues, soft lilacs, and silvery grays. It carries the calm of twilight and the freshness of a fall breeze.

4. Fireside Glow

Fall is also about coziness, the kind that makes you want to gather and create. This palette glows with warm pinks, purples, and embers, balanced by grounding neutrals. Like sitting by a fire after a long day, it’s both soothing and inspiring.

5. Indigo Fog

For the dreamers: moody dark blues, layered aquas, and a haze of lavender light. It’s the quiet mystery of fall nights, when the world slows down and your imagination opens up.

These palettes aren’t just about color, they’re about feeling. Each one reflects a part of fall I see and paint: the transitions, the glow, the stillness, the movement. My hope is that they inspire you to play with color in your own way, whether that’s in your home, your wardrobe, or your creative practice.

Which palette speaks to you most? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear!
