Parallel Realities: Final Countdown to the Opening

Hey, hello there, friend!

The countdown is on! In just a few days—on Saturday, November 16th—Parallel Realities, my solo exhibition, opens at ShockBoxx Gallery in Hermosa Beach.

As we approach the big day, I want to share a little more of the personal journey that has brought me here and give you a deeper look at what makes this show so unique, and relevant.

In "Parallel Realities," I share unseen aspects of myself and my art, stemming from the vulnerability and strength I found after losing my father. These raw and intense works challenge my creative boundaries, exploring the dualities of light and dark, chaos and control, acceptance and resistance. Each piece highlights the beauty and necessity of these contrasts.

Parallel Realities: Final Countdown to the Opening

Thirty-seven new Paintings and a Stunning Installation Collaboration

With 37 new pieces, Parallel Realities is my most extensive new collection. Each painting is layered with meanings that reflect the complexity within us all. I'm thrilled to announce a special collaboration with one of my favorite artists, Scott Meskill. Together, we've crafted an installation that feels almost like a "living metaphor"—constantly shifting, responsive, and evocative. This installation, designed for interaction, invites you to explore the fluid nature of perception and relationships.

Throughout the rest of the collection, water's influence is a powerful symbol of healing, fluidity, and the collapse of different realities. You'll see rounded shapes throughout the paintings, representing unity and the interconnectedness of all beings. While we are each unique, we are all in a relationship with one another, our experiences constantly flowing and overlapping like waves.

A Tribute to the Moon and Feminine Energy

Parallel Realities would only be complete with my signature moons, which represent feminine energy and the light that shines even in the darkest moments. They have been an anchor and a symbol of hope throughout this creative journey, reminding me that even when things feel chaotic, there is a steady presence of light. Expect to see the moons in unique ways that feel fresh but familiar as they become a comforting guide through the most vulnerable stages of creating this collection.

Less Control; More Flow

One of the core themes of Parallel Realities is surrender. Through this process, I've realized how little control we have over life's circumstances and that there is beauty in releasing that need for control. Each painting reflects this realization with a less structured, more fluid style, symbolizing life's unpredictable yet beautiful nature. I hope these pieces invite you to feel safe confronting the calm and chaos, allowing you to trust the journey a bit more.

An Immersive Art Experience You Won't Forget

Parallel Realities is an invitation to go beyond observation. From ripple effects to immersive glasses, this show invites you to interact and engage with each piece in a way that makes your experience uniquely personal. These elements blur the lines between the viewer and the art, creating a dynamic, unforgettable experience where each person brings their own perspective to the pieces.

A Space to Reflect on Your Own Journey

This show gives you a moment to pause and reflect on the contrasts within your life. Just as my journey has been about discovering harmony within life's highs and lows, Parallel Realities encourages you to find beauty and meaning in your story. There's no single way to experience this show; it's about feeling whatever arises for you.

This collection couldn't be more relevant when many live in divided realities. As we've seen—especially after such a polarizing election season—two people can share the same experience yet see it completely differently. Parallel Realities explores how perception shapes our world, emphasizing that we are all connected. At the same time, we see life through our unique lenses. This idea is central to my work: the world unfolds according to our perceptions, and by embracing that, we can understand each other in new ways.

Join me on Saturday, November 16th, from 6 to 9 pm at ShockBoxx Gallery for an evening of art, exploration, and fun. This isn't just a gallery visit; it's an invitation to experience something unforgettable and, perhaps, to leave with a fresh perspective on life's beautiful, complex contrasts.

Thank you for being part of this journey and sharing this dualities exploration with me. I can't wait to hear how Parallel Realities speaks to you.
