Titan takes its name from one of the most fascinating moons in our solar system, a celestial body surrounded by mystery and atmosphere. In this painting, the glowing moon rises above the horizon as waves move rhythmically across the ocean, reflecting its quiet power.
The warm colors of the sky blend with the movement of the water, creating a landscape that feels both earthly and otherworldly, a meeting point between cosmic imagination and the familiar rhythm of the sea.
Part of Second Light — March 2026 Edition, a series of paintings revisited and completed during Drica Lobo’s studio practice.
STUDIO NOTES
I’ve always been fascinated by the names of celestial bodies,Titan especially feels powerful and expansive.
While painting this piece, I imagined what it might feel like to witness a distant moon rising above an ocean horizon on another world. The glowing sphere and the flowing movement of the water create a sense of scale and quiet awe.
Like many of my paintings, this one explores the relationship between the cosmos and the ocean, light and dark, two vast landscapes that mirror one another in their mystery and beauty.
