Anchor centers the gaze on a solitary palm rising above layered sands and deep blue waters, a quiet symbol of grounding and presence. Part of Drica Lobo’s Painting Challenge 2025, perfect for walls or shelves that crave balance and calm.
STUDIO NOTES: Ever since I started painting palm trees back in 2016, my entire art journey shifted. Through them, I found my style, my voice, and the visual language that feels most like home to me.
I’ve been painting palms ever since, and over the years, every single one has found its way into a loving home. Especially the single palm trees. Or sometimes two. And today, as I was painting this one, it hit me: people don’t buy a palm tree. They buy a state of mind. A feeling of peace. A sense of calm. A reminder of ease, breath, and space.
A palm tree is a symbol of arrival, of being exactly where you’re meant to be, even if just for a moment. All the single palm trees in this collection sold out… so I painted another one. Because clearly, this energy is needed.
