Breeze captures the freedom of California living — tall palms swaying above a simple bike at dusk. Painted during Drica Lobo’s Painting Challenge 2025, perfect for walls or shelves that crave color and coastal nostalgia.
STUDIO NOTES: I’ve always dreamt of having a green bike. I don’t think I’ve ever shared this story here, but biking used to be a big part of my life, and not just cruising on the boardwalk!I used to go HARDCORE mountain biking and even rode down some of my favorite California mountains, including Mammoth Mountain (yep, downhill from 11,000 feet!). That experience gave me so much courage, truly, after that kind of adrenaline rush, you feel like you can do anything in life. I mountain biked for about four years, until I broke a few bones and decided to retire from the sport .Now, I still love bikes, the easy kind, along the beach, wind in my hair, sun on my skin. This painting was inspired by that feeling… a vibrant sky, a green bike (the one I never had but always dreamed of), and the reminder that we can always choose adventure, no matter where we are.
